CYNTHIA (MASCETTA) KING
Apr 13, 2018She was born on April 29, 1954 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Anthony (Bill) and Nancy (Bonacci) Mascetta.Cindy was a foreign language teacher for 28 years; first in the Pocantico Hills Central School District and then the Highland Falls Fort Montgomery Central School District in New York. She was a dedicated educator who cared deeply about her students, their education and the colleagues with whom she worked.Cindy lived for her family. On October 10, 1976, she married Roger King, also from Yonkers, NY. Together they had two children, Elizabeth and Stephen. Cindy was the consummate homemaker, where she enjoyed cooking and sharing meals around the dinner table. She loved to tell stories about her family, past and present, helping to bridge the generations. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. An avid traveler, she enjoyed camping, cross-country trips and spending summers in Montauk, NY.Upon retiring to Delaware, Cindy made her home a place where everyone could come and enjoy themselves. She filled her days with beach visits, thrifting, and exploring restaurants in town. She always enjoyed a beautiful Delaware sunset. In her short retirement, she became an active member of the board of the Friends of Lewes Public Library and also took up yoga. She loved to go shopping with friends and finding some quiet time to read.In addition to her husband and children, Cindy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rachel; brother, William (Albina) Mascetta; niece, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.She is forever grateful to her team of angels at Tunnell Cancer Center for their steadfast support.A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 26 at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. An additional viewing will be held the night prior, Sunday, March 25 from 7 to 9 p.m., also at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel.
